A Guide to Successful Breast Feeding at Work

In this post I would like to share a bit of my experience in breastfeeding my babies while juggling work.

1. Establiah strong milk supply by direct latch during the first month of baby's life

2. Get a double electric pump. My personal pump was Medela and it is still functioning after 5 years. Use nursing bra front clip type as a way to achieve hands free and you can continue working while the pump is running.

3. Pump every 3 hours during work day.

4. Direct latch while at home

5.  Continue latching regularly at night

6. Continue latching even when mummy is sick or down with fever

7. Determination is king

8. Join a support group on FB from start of pregnancy

9. Talk to your boss and colleagues about your wish to pump at work so colleagues and co workers can have a better understanding of your preference

10. Garner lots of support from people around you.

Hibiki Japanese Cafe in Kota Kemuning

Non Halal

This restaurant is located HERE .

Food taste good and because it is non halal, definitely better than the halal ones due to the ingredients used.

Pricing would be above average as what one will expect out of a common Japanese Restaurant in Malaysia.

Ambiance is clean and new. Service is quick and attentive. Waitress will refill green tea without you asking.

Children friendly since they provide cutlery and baby chair (standard practice).

However, they have yet to set up credit card payment options, so be sure to bring some cash if you are going to order and eat a bunch.

La Cocina Tapas and Bar Restaurant

22nd August 2018: We celebrated Eu Jin's birthday at La Cocina Spanish Restaurant and Bar when the kids were away to Genting.
Maybe I am not an avid food hunter, I would rate the food as slightly above ordinary.
We ordered this fish dish and lamb kebab as main course, with escargots as appetizer. The escargots were creamy and seasoned just nice.
The bar is located on the upper floor with alfresco seating. This restaurant offers wine tasting classes too.
Our bill came up to about RM130. Standard Chartered bank credit card users enjoy 10% off on selected main courses (subject to terms).
The ambiance and service was up to expectations.

Tun Raja Uda Library, Shah Alam

Lego Mascot
Having Fun
Last minute school holidays activities took us to the library of Tun Raja Uda Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Selangor . We were kind of surprise that Lego is making its appearance here. There was Lego mascot, Lego competition and Lego play area. In order to get into the okay area, each child has to read 3 books and fill up the form, write a short synopsis of the book, its title and the aurtho name. I didn't feel like cheating, so I picked the easiest book and sat down to read. The kids enjoyed it!

By the time we finished the second book, it was close to 2pm. My son was feeling so cranky that he practically climbed over my head to stop me from reading and urged me to bring him to the car for a nap. After failing to get into the Lego playland, we came back again the next day to complete our mission! Great place to hang out without spending money, cold air conditioning, special activities of face painting, foot massage by the blind and many more. Only during school holidays though. I always love the library.

The children area is located at the Ground Floor, the interior consist of a fake tree and a little slope surrounding the tree where children can run and roll around it. The shelves are low so as to make it easier for little hands to grab a book and read. The hard rules of keeping silent is not strictly impose, come on, how can you keep a children area quiet?

There is a stage where activities are conducted, and parents can relax on the sofas at the far back end of the hall (or perhaps, take a nap). Toilets are located inside the hall so there is no need to exit and enter again. Before entering, you are required to remove your shoes and put into a recycle bag provided at the entrance. Highly recommended place to go and spend the weekend with your family!

Cycling To Jenjarom

My first cycling trip with a bunch of cyclist to Jenjarom.
We started from Restoran BR Maju Kota Kemuning at around 7.15am. This group cycles every Sunday to Jenjarom.
We took the route to Rimbayu, then up a bridge that crosses SKVE (South Klang Valley Expressway), along village roads until the junction of Jalan Kampung Sri Cheeding. There is a tea plantation at this junction (BOH Tea Plantation). Turn right and ride for another 3km then turn right into Jalan Aman, then ride for about 2.8 km, turn left into Jalan Kampung Jenjarom. Ride on for 4.7km until you reach the main road of Jalan Banting, go across the traffic light and you will reach the Chinese eateries in this part of town.

Since it is my first time, not much to review about the food selection. I will update again after my second and third ride, on my discoveries of what Jenjarom has to offer as a weekend cycling stop.

There was a bit of a drama too towards the end, Eric broke his bike rim.
